General Ledger Team Lead

Agora Publishing Ireland (API) currently have a vacancy for a General Ledger Team Lead, based in Waterford. This role will report into the Accounting Manager and is full time.

Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of full cycle accounting – GL, AP, AR
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Preparation of the budgets and forecasts and other financial planning duties
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, presentations etc
  • Intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and payments
  • Liaise with the wider finance team across other affiliates
  • Continuously improve finance systems and processes
  • People management of team

Requirements:

  • Recently Qualified/Part Accountant with at least 3 years’ work experience
  • Previous people management experience essential
  • Experience using accountancy packages, preferably Sage
  • Strong financial reporting, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team supporting others
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and organize workflow
  • Adaptable, driven with a positive attitude
